The International Federation of Armwrestling (IFA) and the Azerbaijan Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness proudly invite you to the first-ever IFA Team World Armwrestling Championships. This spectacular event will bring together 16 national teams from IFA member countries to decide which of them is the strongest.
Each team fields one athlete in each of the five categories. All matches are pulled with the right hand.
Registered teams are divided into 4 baskets based on their results at the 2026 IFA World and European Championships. The four best teams go into basket A, the next four into basket B, and so on. Each group receives one team from each basket, and two teams from the same nation cannot be drawn into the same group. The draw takes place on weigh-in day in front of all team captains.
Every team plays every other team in its group. Each game consists of 3 matches in each of the 5 categories – 15 matches in total. The team that wins more matches gets 2 points, the losing team gets 0. The top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals.
Only teams with a complete roster are eligible to compete. If fewer than 16 nations register, additional teams from nations that have already registered may apply (e.g. Poland 1, Poland 2…).
Team cards are published here as rosters are confirmed. Groups are drawn on Friday 27 November, and results are published during and after the competition.
The organizer covers athletes’ accommodation from 26 to 30 November 2026 with breakfast and dinner, as well as airport–hotel–airport transfers.
